Advice from a communications expert
Stephanie Scotti, a communications expert, has been coaching since she was sixteen and by now everyone from executives to the president’s cabinet.
Identify a small minor thing
Working with the clients over the years she found out that whenever she worked with somebody she was able to identify a small minor thing in their clients that would actually change how they thought about things. She has observed that when you just twisted a little bit in the whole image, the change started straight after that.
The business leaders had an immediate application of these small changes and they could go out and nail whatever they needed to do. So how can we prepare the background for detecting these small things?
Stop comparing yourself to anyone else
The first thing we need to do is to stop comparing yourself to anyone else. If you compare yourself to somebody who has better talents or different talents or more advanced talents than you do then you will always feel down. That is not what life is all about. Only to be the best person you can be and being the best person you can bring it forward to the world.
What do you do really well
There are enough ways in the world for everybody to have their own one right way to do anything they want. The first thing you need to look is what do you do really well. Highlight that. If there is anything that disrupts the communication, something that gets in the way, work around it but let you be you and stand for who you are.
The mindset
The mindset is what people are resonating with and together with the right communications expert, you can start a big change. The mindset that little change in thinking makes all the difference in the world. Change how you communicate with yourself, family and others. Presentation really comes from the connexion that you make with each and each and every member of the audience. Because it is never about you it is always about them especially at that moment before you get to step up to speak.
The key three aspects of speaking
Whether you are a business leader, professional speaker or professional who needs to address an audience you should be mindful of the key three aspects of speaking to others:
- First, take care of yourself so that you could be present with them and that is what allows you to connect is quite simply. Being present with them in your authentic self believe. You must first connect with yourself.
- Then connect with the message
- And then connect with the audience.
First connected to the message and to yourself
That order is very deliberate. You can’t try to connect with the audience without having first connected to the message and to yourself. When you try to do it in reverse and get that out of order people you would be more concerned about your performance your public. Then you are more of an actor, unauthentic, not interested in the essence of who you are.
